About the Role
Position Overview:
The Tampa Jewish Chamber of Commerce is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented volunteer intern to assist in identifying new funding opportunities, sponsorships, grants, investments, and government subsidies. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with a prominent chamber of commerce while making valuable contributions to the organization’s growth and impact within the local Jewish community and beyond.
As an intern, you will collaborate closely with the Chamber’s leadership team, helping to identify potential financial resources that will further support the mission and initiatives of the Tampa Jewish Chamber of Commerce. This internship provides opportunities to develop professional skills in fundraising, partnership development, and grant writing.
Key Responsibilities:
Research Funding Opportunities: Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources, including grants, sponsorship opportunities, and government subsidies that align with the Chamber's goals.
Sponsorship Outreach: Assist in identifying and reaching out to potential sponsors for Chamber events, programs, and initiatives.
Grant Applications: Help draft, edit, and organize applications for grants that support Chamber programs and services.
Investment Opportunities: Research opportunities for investments or funding that could contribute to the growth of the Chamber and its members.
Government Subsidies: Identify applicable government programs and subsidies that the Chamber could benefit from, particularly those related to business development, community engagement, or nonprofit initiatives.
Database Management: Maintain and update a database of potential funding sources, sponsorship opportunities, and investment leads.
Partnership Development: Assist in cultivating relationships with local businesses, government entities, and philanthropic organizations to foster ongoing support for the Chamber’s mission.
Reporting & Analytics: Assist in tracking the success of funding campaigns and provide regular updates on progress toward financial goals.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong research skills and the ability to analyze funding opportunities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
A proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
An interest in business development, community outreach, and nonprofit funding.
Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but not required.
